I've just invested in a new (cheapie) TFT Monitor, and while I'm most impressed with the sharpness and clarity, all of my older scans look a bit dull. I suspect that my old CRT monitor was not properly calibrated and scans had been tweaked so that they looked right.

I'm still using analogue (Provia) film and a Canon film scanner.

I uploaded some scans to Photobox a while back, and the prints came back a bit on the dark side, although they were acceptable. I use PS7 and PSP, and have tried the calibration utilities therein, but wondered if there were any other utilities for calibration of TFT screens, so that I can get my prints to look like what I see on the screen. My old Canon 2700F, is slowly becoming unreliable, and might be replaced shortly with the new Minolta, so that might also be causing some of the frustrations.

Anyone had similar experiences???
