Boeing Production Manufacturing Sections.

Boeing uses the following nomenclature for Production manufacturing sections ie section 41,43,46,48 on the B737 & section 41,43,44,46,48 on the B757.
What decides the numbers & which model has a section 42,45,47 located on.
Also what is the numbering system for the other aircraft manufacturers?.
