Takeoffs are mostly done from rubber-free runway 21 at the east due to the proximity of the Khalde mountains facing the other two, unless wind requires a northerly take off, which will need to be done from runway 17. |

Well sorry about the passengers who were badly delayed on board of this bird, but i have to appricate the bad weather in PEK, which diverted my YVR-time old friend to DLC. That really gave me a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to say NIHAO to her right here at my home town airport. Well except the not-so-good weather here in DLC, this is the best encounter in this few years. Also, thank you for giving me the phone call, Simpsom. Cheers~ |

81-0933 / 82603 (cn 5H-3) Emergency Landing!!! Ex USAF 81-0933, this aircraft stayed at Lajes for almost 4 months with another Pakistan Air Force F16 due some engine problems when they first arrived at Lajes. After 1 month at Lajes, the 2 F16's were making a test flight when this one on the photo had again problems (this time with hot brakes) and had to declare an emergency. Those 2 F16's have been recently coded 'L J' - LaJes on the tail as a ground crew joke for being at Lajes all this time!!! |
